A guest with gold bullion bars in his bag

Last summer I got a job in a small guesthouse in the south of England. The job was not really tiring and the summer was cooler than the weather in my country, so I was really happy to work there. I usually spent my days waiting in the reception for new guest to arrive, listening to the radio, reading books and talking to my colleagues. All guests were just usual people, coming there for the summer. But there was one exception. On day, a very enigmatic man arrived at the hotel. He was wearing some expensive clothes and had just a small suitcase with him. I think there were some gold bullion bars inside the suitcase, but I might not have seen it right. He opened the bag just for a few seconds, when he was trying to find his wallet. As soon as he checked in and got the key to his room, he went up the stairs and I didn"t see him for two following days. I was wondering if he might be hiding there for some reason. But after two days, he appeared in front of my desk. He was wearing a T-shirt and sandals. He was holding his suitcase, not putting it down for even a moment. He was going out. Several hours later, he returned without the bag. I wonder if he had sold the gold bullion to anyone. Perhaps he was an investor who had arranged a meeting with a buyer in the town.
